What is Neurofeedback Therapy?

Why is Neurofeedback so Important?

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment that encourages the brain to develop healthier patterns of activity. The goal of treatment is not only to change how you think and feel, but also to change your brain on a biological level for better functioning.

How Successful is Neurofeedback Training?

More than eighty-five percent of our clients experience significant improvement.

How Long is Each Neurofeedback Session?

Sessions last approximately 45 minutes each and are typically scheduled at two times per week.  The course of treatment depends on the results of your EEG brain map, and can run between 20 and 30 sessions.

How Does Neurofeedback Work?

While using audio/video input, your brain is gently trained to stay focused.  If it goes "out of bounds", the audio/video will give feedback, attracting your brain's focus and bringing it back into balance again.  Over time the brain learns to stay focused naturally and sets up better thought patterns.  Thereby eliminating the brain based symptoms that you have been experiencing.

Will I Notice a Difference Right Away?

Some patients have told us that they notice changes right away.  Most patients notice changes after 6 to 8 sessions.

Are there any Side Effects?

Neurofeedback is considered a safe non-invasive and effective treatment.  There have been no published long-term side effects.  Training is like a workout for the brain and can sometimes cause fatigue after sessions.

Is Neurofeedback Safe and Effective?

Neurofeedback is an effective, safe, non-invasive, and non-pharmacological intervention that should be considered as a type of therapy for mental health struggles, in addition to talk therapy and medications.
